And that was before the coronavirus happened. Emergency food providers are organizations that provide food to under-resourced people in our communities.

Thirty-four new trees will be planted soon at Denny’s Plaza in downtown Spartanburg providing more shade and beautification of the area. The project funded by a $17,000 grant from the Noble Tree Foundation is set to begin in a few weeks. The trees will be planted around the outside border of the plaza along South Converse Street, East Main Street, East Broad Street and South Liberty Street.

Work is expected to start soon on the next phase of the Wadsworth Trail along Anderson Mill Road on Spartanburg’s west side. The two-mile segment will connect with a dozen neighborhoods near Interstate 26 to Anderson Mill Elementary School, churches, the North Tyger River and the reconstructed Anderson Mill.
