As we expand our trail network, counting users becomes more important for a number of reasons. The data will help us secure grants, target programming and maintenance activities, and better understand demand. In partnership with the Spartanburg Area Conservancy (SPACE) and the Spartanburg Area Transportation Study, we have purchased and located new infrared trail counters. We use TrafX trail counters which are relatively inexpensive and small. If you see one along the trails, please leave it alone so we can make the best use of the data as possible and bring more and better trails to our system.
