Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
As we enter the New Year, I look forward to seeing all the wonderful projects Spartanburg has undertaken! PAL is already in the midst of many exciting projects. For one, the Mary Black Foundation Rail Trail Park has had continual progress as many pieces of the park project come together.
Eat Smart Move More now has a chapter in Spartanburg, and PAL is heavily involved, with Liz Perry leading the way for us. Eat Smart Move More is a wonderful coalition that allows individuals, communities, schools, state agencies and nonprofits to make connections, share information and work together to reduce childhood obesity.
Planning has begun for the 13th Annual Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Criterium on April 28, 2017! For those of you who are interested in a sponsorship, you can email Lindsay Graham for information at lgraham@active-living.org.
As always, PAL is continuing its work advocating and implementing bicycle trails, searching out innovative solutions to create better food access and working with schools to implement healthy programming.
And this is just things we are working on at PAL! I can’t wait to see what other projects are happening in Spartanburg this year!
