Every year I look forward to Labor Day weekend, which I usually spend at the beach with my family. I am always sad when the weekend ends but actually get a little excited when I am driving home Monday morning (minus the bumper-to-bumper traffic). Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a long weekend and always hate to see it go, but the end of Labor Day weekend can only mean one thing: fall is right around the corner!
For me, fall means so many fun things, but my three favorite include warmer clothes, football tailgating, and outdoor activities! I can finally run my dogs again without the fear of a heat stroke and walk outside without immediately breaking out into a sweat. I feel as if fall is one of the best times to live in the upstate. Within 45 minutes we can be in the mountains for a wonderful hikes or take a weekend getaway for a fall festival in Asheville.
Locally, Camp Croft has some great hiking and biking paths and is a great place for a fall picnic by the lake! Grab a BCycle and ride downtown for some alfresco dining. RJ Rockers run club on Tuesdays at 6 PM is another great option for those of you who want to get outside after work!
I hope you will take advantage of the outdoors this fall and enjoy all that the upstate has to offer! Be sure to check out our website for local trails.
